NICO'S HOLLYWOOD CAREER

At 14-years-old, Nico Parker is trying to make a name for herself in the entertainment industry. Her debut movie was alongside Colin Farrell and Danny DeVito in Tim Burton's live-action remake of "Dumbo," and she credits being on-and-off sets since she was a child for the familiarity of it all.

"I've been on and off sets my whole life. It was great, but I also saw how long and hard my parents worked and how exhausting it could be."

HER DREAMS OF BECOMING AN ACTRESS

Of course, she was immersed in the industry from a young age, with her mom being a famous actress and her dad, Ol Parker, being a famous writer and director. When it was her turn to act on "Dumbo," it felt natural to her and she knew it was what she wanted to do.

Although she encourages her daughter's dreams of being in the entertainment industry, Thandie is also trying to make sure she's protected and vigilant when it comes to abuse and harassment.

ONE PROUD MAMA

While Thandie is currently on the hit TV show "Westworld" on HBO, she was eager to announce that her daughter Nico is also set to star in another HBO series, particularly "The Third Day." On Instagram, she shared the good news with her followers, saying:

“My superfly nugget @nicoparkerofficial is starring opposite @naomieharris #JudeLaw in @hbo #TheThirdDay - out next year. Bring It Bugs! Xx Mama"

PROTECTING HER DAUGHTER FROM HARASSMENT

Although she encourages her daughter's dreams of being in the entertainment industry, Thandie is also trying to make sure she's protected and vigilant when it comes to abuse and harassment. After all, Newton founded the "Time's Up" movement in January 2018.

The movement aims to provide legal assistance to victims of harassment. She began the movement after allegedly being ignored by Hollywood after trying to speak up about her experience of sexual abuse in the industry.

Hundreds of other actors and actresses have followed suit in speaking up about their experiences, and it's raised heightened awareness on trying to eliminate predators from Hollywood.
