DJ Khaled & Fat Joe Mourn Death Of Terror Squad's Raul Conde

DJ Khaled, Fat Joe, Erica Mena and several other members of the Hip Hop community are currently mourning the passing of Terror Squad member Raul Conde.

On Wednesday (November 22), Joe took to Instagram to announce the unfortunate news of the rapper and video director’s death. Next to a series of photographs with his longtime friend and collaborator, he reflected on their history together and how much it meant to him.

“My Day 1 how can a man love another man more than your own biological family,” he began. “You are 1 of 1 the most loyal EVER. We did it since kids we did everything we dreamed of i love you with every fiber in my body. I thought we’d get old together and look back at the times we had and laugh. No one understood me like you, you were God sent my brother I wish I could get one last talk with you.

“My Condolences to the CONDE FAMILY ty for letting us have RAUL for all these years i can tell you not a moment in my life i won’t love and cherish every minute every second I’ve had with RAUL. i want everyone to wish my brother a safe passage to Heaven cause he loved GOD SO MUCH [prayer-hand emoji, heart emoji] WE ARE TERROR SQUAD 4 Life I love you RAUL TILL WE MEET AGAIN.”

DJ Khaled also shared a collage of photographs with his late comrade on social media, captioning it: “Love you my brother @raul.ts you are very rare you the definition of a true brother friend . U always wanted to see everyone win . RAUL I LOVE YOU BROTHER ! GOD BLESS . WE GOING MISS U , @raul.ts the legendary RAUL ! Love for ever !”

Conde, whose cause of death hasn’t been publicized yet, was 52 years old at the time of his death.

He is best known for his work with Fat Joe’s New York-based collective, for whom he directed hit music videos such as “Lean Back” and “Take Me Home” in addition to once being an artist on the imprint.

Soon after the tragic news went public, a number of his fans and affiliates began sharing their condolences.

Terror Squad singer Tony Sunshine also took a moment to pay tribute to the fallen soldier on Instagram, writing: “Nobody loved this TS thing of ours more than YOU! MAN! We was just in Vegas on Thursday laughing & talking our shyt [sic] at least I got the opportunity to have one last conversation with you as well as that last drink before I had to go pack my bags & your last words to me was I love you & im proud of you sunshine & when i said thank you your reply was ‘no, thank you’ now keep going.

“I Love you raulin. You are a True Legend & it was an honor to squad up with you. you will never be forgotten .May your passage to the afterlife be a beautiful & glorious journey.”

Love & Hip Hop star Erica Mena, with whom Conde shared child, also took to social media to express her grief via Instagram Story. Over a photograph of Conde and their son, she wrote: “My Son officially has a broken heart. LIFE IS SO SHORT. PLEASE LOVE YOUR PEOPLE.”

Timbaland, DJ Nasty and Dre Lyon of Cool & Dre are among the many others to pay tribute to the fallen soldier on social media.
