The Seattle Seahawks officially signed four of their nine draft picks from the 2022 NFL Draft. While the Seahawks did bag an impressive amount of young talent including Tyreke Smith, Tariq Woolen, and Dareke Young, people should really watch out for Bo Melton.
The underrated wide receiver, after all, is always the hardest worker in the room and is eager to make a name for himself in his rookie year.
Bo Melton was born and raised in Mays Landing, New Jersey, and was rated as a four-star recruit following a stellar high school career with Cedar Creek High School. After fielding multiple scholarship offers, he chose to go with Rudgers University, where he improved every single year.
The 22-year-old WR could have signed up for the Draft last season, but he elected to use the extra year of college eligibility after the coronavirus pandemic in 2020. Bo Melton made his final year count, nothing a career-best 55 passes for 618 yards, including three touchdowns. For his efforts, Bo Melton also made it to the 2022 Senior Bowl.
All in all, Bo Melton logged 2,011 receiving yards, 164 catches, and 11 receiving touchdowns for the Scarlett Knights. He even showed versatility as a kick returner on special teams.
Bo Melton quickly adapted the “Get Busy Bo” monicker, which perfectly captures his passion and workhorse attitude. He’s always on the move, and always improving himself every single day.

The Seahawks certainly couldn’t pass up on a talented and hungry prospect like Bo Melton, taking him with the eighth pick in the event round, and no. 229 overall.
Here’s the heartwarming moment where Bo Melton got the call that changed his life forever.
I’m not crying, you’re crying! 🥺
Rutgers Nation is so proud of you, Bo!

— Rutgers Football (@RFootball) April 30, 2022The Seahawks brass was certainly impressed after Melton ran a 4.34 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine — which was the fastest time of any Big Ten back. Despite being undersized for his position at just 5-foot-11, Bo Melton displayed incredible speed that certainly belongs in the NFL.
His former coaches will all agree that Bo Melton is a sponge, who will absorb every bit of knowledge and guidance that he can. For sure, Bo Melton will learn a lot from the Seahawks’ veteran wide receivers DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett.
